National comparative exams online

Exam - step by step

  1. 1. Invitation

    • Before the exam, you will find an invitation to the exam in your personal profile. We will send you an email to let you know that you have received an invitation to the exam.
    • We will place the invitation in your personal profile no earlier than 10 days and no later than 2 days before the exam.
    • In the invitation you will find all important exam instructions, the exam start time and a link to the ScioLink testing application.
    • You can enter the ScioLink application only by using the button in the invitation.

  2. 2. Mandatory equipment check

    • No later than 3 days before the exam, you will undergo a mandatory equipment check in the form of a short demonstration run through the test application.
    • You will verify the functionality of the testing environment on your computer and become familiar with the entire testing environment.
    • The results of the Mandatory Equipment Check are not evaluated, they are only used to check the readiness of your equipment.
    • The check must be completed before each exam date you apply for. If you do not complete the Mandatory Equipment Check, we cannot guarantee technical support during the exam.

  3. 3. Start of the online exam

    • You enter the exam via the ScioLink app. The ScioLink app can be accessed via a button in your invitation.
    • It is possible to enter the exam and initial checks only at the official start time of the exam.
    • After entering the online exam, the application will guide you through the following steps:
      • At the beginning of each exam, ScioLink will check your webcam, microphone, internet connection speed and disk space on your computer.
      • After checking the minimum technical requirements, you will be prompted to install the Proctoring Desktop extension. This extension monitors the running processes and devices on your computer and must be running during the entire exam.
      • The application will then guide you through the next steps. You can read more in the rules.

  4. 4. Course of the online exam

    • After the initial checks, you will enter the test itself.
    • You will be able to see the preview from your webcam during the whole test This way you can check that you are clearly visible.
    • Please pay special attention to the rules. Strict rules apply during the online exam and we are forced to evaluate your result as invalid if the rules are violated.
    • Once you submit the test, all monitoring will stop. The Proctoring Desktop extension will close by itself, you will only have to confirm the closing.
    • You will always be informed by email about the publication of your results and other details regarding your exam. We recommend that you check your email regularly.

Minimal technical requirements for online exams

Online NCE require that your device meets these (or better) specifications:

  • Free storage: 2GB
  • Dual-core CPU, at least 2,0 GHz operating frequency
  • RAM: 8GB

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (x64 only); macOS Sierra 10.12 or newer
  • Browser: Google Chrome latest version
  • Screen resolution: 1024 x 768px
  • Javascript: Allowed
  • Cookies: Allowed
  • HTML5: Allowed

Internet connection

  • Download speed: 8 Mbps (1 MB/s)
  • Upload speed: 1 Mbps (0,125 MB/s)
  • Check your speed
  • The use of a virtual private network (VPN) can cause technical complications
