When concluding and performing contracts, Scio acts within the scope of its commercial or other business activities. It is an entrepreneur that supplies products or provides services to customers either directly or through other entrepreneurs.

1.2 Customer

The customer is a consumer and does not act within the scope of their commercial or other business activities when concluding and performing the contract. They are a natural person who purchases products or uses services for purposes other than business with these products or services. Furthermore, in these terms and conditions in the section concerning National Comparative Exams (NCE), the customer is also referred to as an "NCE participant" or "prospective NCE participant."

1.3 Consumer contract

A consumer contract is a contract in which the contracting parties are, on the one hand, the consumer (customer) and, on the other hand, the supplier of goods or provider of services, in particular a purchase contract, a contract for work, or other contracts under the Civil Code. These Terms and Conditions govern the terms and conditions of the contract for the provision of services and/or the terms and conditions of the purchase contract.

1.4 Validity of the Terms and Conditions

The customer is sufficiently notified of these terms and conditions before placing an order and has the opportunity to familiarize themselves with them.
Provisions deviating from the terms and conditions may be agreed in the contract. Deviating provisions in the contract take precedence over the provisions of the terms and conditions.

The provisions of the terms and conditions are an integral part of the contract. The contract is concluded in the Czech language.
Scio may amend or supplement the wording of the Terms and Conditions. The wording of the Terms and Conditions effective on the date of conclusion of the contract shall apply to every legal relationship established by a contract between Scio and the customer.

1.5 Scio products

A description of individual Scio products is provided in the online store at www.scioexams.com (hereinafter referred to as the "e-shop") or on other websites that link to these Terms and Conditions.

The web interface of the store contains information about goods and services, including the prices of each good or service. Prices are listed including value added tax and all related fees. Prices remain valid for as long as they are displayed in the web interface of the store. This provision does not limit Scio's ability to conclude a contract under individually negotiated terms.
The store's web interface also contains information about the costs associated with packaging and delivery of goods, if such costs are associated with the goods.

1.6 Order information

Scio provides all notifications and information relating to the order to the customer in electronic form, via email and via the customer's personal profile. Scio is not responsible for cases where the delivery of an email message is not successful due to the fault of the transmission network operator or the customer's email account.

2) Customer registration, product order, and conclusion of contract

2.1 Registration in the e-shop, Personal Profile

Before sending their first order, customers must register in the e-shop at www.scioexams.com.

Registration is a prerequisite for the customer to be able to use their personal profile, where they can track the current status of their order, cancel or change certain details in accordance with Article 5) of these Terms and Conditions. The customer's personal profile also displays any additional information about the selected product.

Registration is therefore necessary for most products, although some physical products can be ordered without registration.

The system will guide the customer to the registration form, where the customer will fill in the information necessary for the purposes of the given product (delivery of goods, provision of services). If the customer does not enter the information correctly, Scio cannot guarantee that the order will be processed correctly and on time.

Successful customer registration is confirmed by Scio in the form of an email message sent to the email address provided by the customer during registration.

The customer only needs to register once. Each subsequent order is placed using the registration details assigned during the first order. Access to and the personal profile is secured by a username and password. The customer is not authorized to allow third parties to use their personal profile.
Scio may cancel a customer's personal profile, especially if the customer has not used their personal profile for more than two years or if the customer violates their obligations under the contract (including the terms and conditions).

The customer acknowledges that the personal profile may not be available continuously, especially with regard to the necessary maintenance of the hardware and software equipment of Scio or third parties.

2.2 Personal data

More detailed information on the processing of personal data is available here.

2.3 Order

To order goods or services, the customer fills out an order form on the store's website. The order form contains, in particular, information about:

  • the goods or services ordered (the customer "places" the ordered product in the electronic shopping cart of the store's web interface),
  • method of payment, details of the required method of delivery of the ordered goods, and information about the costs associated with the delivery of the goods

(hereinafter collectively referred to as the "order").

Before sending the order to Scio, the customer is allowed to check and change the information they have entered in the order. The customer sends the order to Scio by clicking on the "Confirm order" button. The information provided in the order is considered correct by Scio. Immediately after receiving the order, Scio will confirm its acceptance to the customer by email to the customer's email address specified in their personal profile or in the order (hereinafter referred to as the "customer's email address").

Depending on the nature of the order (quantity of goods, price, estimated shipping costs), Scio is always entitled to ask the customer for additional confirmation of the order (e.g., in writing, by email, or by phone).

2.4 Conclusion of the contract

The customer's order (for NCE products, also referred to as "NCE application" in the terms and conditions) is a proposal to conclude a contract, and the contract itself is concluded upon delivery of Scio's binding consent to this proposal (binding confirmation of the order by Scio).
From this moment, mutual rights and obligations arise between Scio and the customer, which are defined by the contract and the terms and conditions, which are an integral part of this contract. The concluded contract is archived by Scio for the purpose of its successful fulfillment and is not accessible to uninvolved parties. The customer agrees to the use of remote means of communication when concluding the contract.

3) Price and payment for products

3.1 Product prices

The price of products is determined by Scio and published in the online store at www.scioexams.com. The price is valid at the amount published at the time of the order. Together with the price, the customer is also obliged to pay Scio the costs associated with packaging and delivery of the goods in the agreed amount within the meaning of paragraph 4.3 of these terms and conditions. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the price also includes the costs associated with the delivery of the goods.

Scio is entitled to withdraw from the concluded contract if the price of the product was incorrectly stated in the e-shop, which was clearly disproportionate to the value of the product, and the customer purchased the product at this disproportionate price.

3.2 Date and method of payment

Unless otherwise specified in these terms and conditions or on the page of a specific product, payment for an order (for goods or services and any costs associated with the delivery of goods) can be made as follows:

  1. a) Payment by bank transfer – when placing a payment order, the customer must correctly fill in the variable payment symbol, which they will receive together with other payment details in an email from Scio. The date of payment is considered to be the date on which the relevant amount is credited to Scio's bank account under the correct variable symbol.
  2. b) Online payment by credit card – after completing the order, the customer is redirected to the payment gateway. The date of payment is considered to be the date on which the payment is successfully authorized (usually immediately after payment).
  3. c) Cash on delivery – if the customer selects cash on delivery in the order, they will pay the price including postage and cash on delivery fees upon delivery of the product. Cash on delivery is only possible in exceptional cases; it cannot be selected as a standard option.

3.3 Customer's obligation to pay for the ordered product

The price is usually (with the exception of goods sent cash on delivery) paid by the customer in advance before the goods are shipped or the service is provided to the customer. The provisions of § 2119, paragraph 1 of the Civil Code do not apply.
The price is payable within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract, but no later than the commencement of the provision of the ordered service. Special provisions on payment may be included in the sections of these terms and conditions relating to individual products.

4) Delivery of ordered products

4.1 Online products

Online products are considered delivered upon sending the login details (password, code) to the relevant online application to the email address provided by the customer during registration.

If the customer uses the login details and accesses the purchased online product before the expiry of the fourteen-day withdrawal period within the meaning of paragraph 5.4 of the Terms and Conditions, they expressly agree that Scio has commenced performance under this contract before the expiry of the aforementioned withdrawal period, which, within the meaning of Section 1837(l) of the Civil Code, will result in the impossibility of withdrawing from the contract after such commencement of performance.

4.2 Services

Scio sends information and materials related to services ordered through the e-shop to the email address provided by the customer during registration.

If, when placing an order, the customer has chosen a date for the performance of the ordered service earlier than after the expiry of the fourteen-day period for withdrawal from the contract within the meaning of paragraph 5.4. of the Terms and Conditions, they thereby express their explicit consent for Scio to commence performance under this contract before the expiry of the aforementioned period for withdrawal from the contract, which, within the meaning of Section 1837(a) of the Civil Code, will result in the impossibility of withdrawing from the contract after such commencement of performance.

4.3 Goods

Scio shall ship the goods on the following business day, but no later than five business days after payment by the customer or, in the case of cash on delivery, within the same period from the confirmation of the order to the address provided by the customer when ordering through the selected transport company, within the territory of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. If the customer wishes to have the goods sent outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia, this must be agreed in advance by telephone with Scio's customer service.

The costs of delivery of goods ordered through the e-shop are borne by the customer. The customer is informed of the cost of delivery (shipping price) before completing the order when selecting the type of transport.

The price of delivery outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be determined individually in each specific case according to the actual delivery costs.

5) Change, cancellation, and order cancellation

5.1 Order changes

Orders cannot be changed after they have been sent. The only exceptions are certain changes that are available in the personal profile for individual products.

5.2 Cancellation of an order by the customer

The customer is entitled to cancel the order at any time before paying for the ordered product. The order can only be canceled by the customer through their personal profile, due to the need to ensure the legitimacy of such a cancellation request.

5.3 Cancellation of an order by the customer

After paying for the ordered product, the customer is entitled to cancel the order only in cases and under conditions expressly specified for individual products in the Special Section of these Terms and Conditions relating to the product in question. Orders can only be canceled via the personal profile at www.scioexams.com by completing and submitting the cancellation form, due to the need to ensure the legitimacy of such a cancellation request. If the option to cancel is not specified for a product, the order cannot be canceled after payment.

5.4 Withdrawal from the contract by the customer

Pursuant to Section 1829(1) of the Civil Code, the customer has the right to withdraw from the concluded contract without giving any reason, with the exception of:

  • a Scio product consisting of the provision of services (including online products), if their performance was commenced with the customer's consent before the expiry of the 14-day period from the acceptance of performance (the date of commencement of service provision for such a product is expressly stated or depends directly on the customer's action),
  • a Scio product customized according to the customer's wishes or for their person,
  • the delivery of digital content, if it was not delivered on a tangible medium and was delivered with the customer's prior express consent before the expiry of the withdrawal period.

The customer has the right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) days. The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day following the day

  • (in the case of the purchase of goods) when the customer or a third party designated by the customer (other than the carrier) takes delivery of the goods,
  • (in the case of the provision of services) the conclusion of the contract, but in that case no later than the day before the day on which the provision of the purchased service will commence within the meaning of these terms and conditions.

The customer may withdraw from this contract by sending any unambiguous statement addressed to Scio, i.e. www.scioexams.com, s.r.o., registered office: Pobřežní 34, 186 00, Pobřežní 34, 186 00, Prague 8, Company ID: 271 561 25, e-mail: scio@scio.cz (e.g., by letter sent via postal service or e-mail). To withdraw from the purchase contract, the customer may use the sample form provided by Scio, which can be found in their personal profile in the orders section and which can be sent directly from their personal profile.

Consequences of withdrawal from the contract

If the customer withdraws from the contract, Scio will return to them without undue delay, no later than 14 days from the date on which Scio received the withdrawal from the contract, all funds that Scio has received under the contract, including delivery costs (except for additional costs incurred as a result of the customer choosing a delivery method other than the cheapest delivery method offered). The same means of payment used by the customer for the initial transaction will be used for the refund, unless the customer expressly specifies otherwise. In no case will this result in additional costs for the customer.

In the case of the purchase of a tangible product, the funds received will be refunded only after the returned goods have been received or after proof has been provided that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.

In the case of the purchase of a tangible product, the customer shall return the goods without undue delay, no later than 14 days from the date of withdrawal from the contract. The deadline is considered to have been met if the goods are sent back before its expiry. The customer shall bear the direct costs associated with returning the goods. The customer is only responsible for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling the goods in a manner other than that necessary to familiarize themselves with the nature, characteristics, and functionality of the goods.

5.5 Cancellation of an order by Scio

Scio is entitled to cancel the customer's order or withdraw from the contract if the price has not been paid within 14 days of its conclusion (order confirmation) in accordance with paragraph 2.4 of these terms and conditions. In the case of cash on delivery, Scio is entitled to withdraw from the concluded contract if the customer does not accept the goods.

Scio is also entitled to cancel the customer's order if, for objective reasons (e.g., due to the epidemiological situation), it is not possible to fulfill the contract under the same conditions under which the order was placed.

5.6 Refund procedure for order cancellation or contract withdrawal

After receiving the completed withdrawal form or order cancellation form and evaluating the legitimacy of the request, Scio will refund the amount paid or part thereof to the customer in accordance with the cancellation conditions set out in these terms and conditions.

If the order was paid by bank transfer, Scio will send the customer a request for the account number to which the relevant amount is to be refunded.

If the order was paid for by credit card, the relevant amount will be automatically refunded to that card.

Refund procedure in the event of withdrawal from the contract
In the event of withdrawal from the contract in accordance with paragraph 5.4 of these terms and conditions, Scio will refund the funds received from the customer within fourteen (14) days of the customer's withdrawal from the contract.
If the customer withdraws from the contract, Scio will refund the amount corresponding to the price of the goods and the amount corresponding to the cost of delivery of the goods to the customer. However, if the customer has chosen a more expensive shipping method than the basic one, Scio will refund the amount corresponding to the basic shipping method it offers for the delivery of goods.

Refund procedure for order cancellations
In the event of cancellation, the money will be refunded to the customer within 14 days of the order cancellation.

Common provisions
Scio is not obliged to refund the customer before the customer returns the goods or proves that they have been sent to Scio.
Scio is entitled to unilaterally offset the claim for compensation for damage to the goods against the customer's claim for a refund.

If the customer requests a refund to a bank account located outside the Czech Republic or Slovakia, they are obliged to bear the costs associated with returning the amount to such an account.

6) Complaints and complaints procedure – rights arising from defective performance

6.1 Complaints procedure

The complaints procedure sets out the procedure for the customer in the event that, despite all efforts by Scio to ensure the high quality of the products provided, the customer has grounds for claiming liability for defective performance. The rights and obligations of the contracting parties regarding rights arising from defective performance are governed by the relevant generally binding regulations (in particular the provisions of Sections 1914 to 1925, Sections 2099 to 2117, and Sections 2161 to 2174 of the Civil Code).

6.2 Product defect

Scio is responsible to the customer for ensuring that the product is free of defects upon delivery. A product defect means that the product sold does not correspond to the agreed description, type, and quantity, as well as quality, functionality, and other agreed characteristics, is not suitable for the purpose for which the buyer requires it and to which the seller has agreed, or is not delivered with the agreed accessories and instructions for use, or does not meet the conditions of § 2161, paragraph 2 of the Civil Code. The customer is not entitled to rights arising from liability for defects in the case of a defect for which the goods are sold at a reduced price, or for reasonable wear and tear if used goods are sold.

Scio is also not liable for defects resulting from wear and tear of the item or use of the product contrary to Scio's instructions or contrary to normal use.

The buyer may report (complain about) a defect that appears in the goods within two years of receipt.

6.3 How to exercise your rights under Scio's liability for product defects (complaints)

The customer is obliged to inspect the product without undue delay after receipt.

Upon receipt of the goods from the carrier, the customer is obliged to check the integrity of the packaging and, in the event of any defects, to notify the carrier immediately. If the packaging is found to be damaged, indicating unauthorized access to the contents of the shipment, the customer is not obliged to accept the shipment from the carrier.
The customer is obliged to notify Scio of any product defect immediately after discovering it.

Scio is obliged to decide on the complaint and settle it without undue delay. Scio undertakes to inform the customer of the manner in which the complaint will be settled within 3 working days of its submission. Scio undertakes to settle the complaint as soon as possible, no later than 30 days after it has been submitted by the customer.

6.4 Customer rights arising from Scio's liability for product defects

If the goods are defective, the customer has the right to have the defect removed, either by delivery of a new item without defects or by repair of the item; in the case of a service provided, the customer has the right to have the same service provided again or supplemented in the proper quality and quantity. Scio may reject the customer's choice if it would be impossible or disproportionately costly compared to the other option.

The customer has the right to a reasonable discount on the price or to withdraw from the contract if Scio does not remove the defect, the defect cannot be removed, it is clear that the defect will not be removed, or the defect has occurred repeatedly. The customer shall inform Scio of their choice of remedy when reporting the defect or without undue delay after reporting the defect.

In the event of withdrawal from the contract, Scio shall refund the customer the price paid for the product in accordance with paragraph 5.6 of these terms and conditions.

7) Copyright

When handling all Scio products, the customer is obliged to comply with Act No. 121/2000 Coll. on copyright, rights related to copyright and on amendments to certain acts (the Copyright Act). In particular, the customer is not entitled to lend, copy, resell copies, or otherwise distribute any of Scio's products and other materials provided in violation of the Copyright Act. By violating the provisions of the Copyright Act, the customer exposes themselves to the risk of claims for damages and unjust enrichment by Scio; in some cases, such a violation of the Copyright Act may also constitute a criminal offense.

8) Special provisions on the provision of services during anti-epidemic or similar measures

In view of the experience gained during the COVID-19 epidemic, in particular with anti-epidemic measures, Scio considers it appropriate to amend these terms and conditions to include special procedures in the event that, as a result of anti-epidemic or other similar measures taken by public authorities (hereinafter referred to as "measures"), it is not possible to provide services (products) in the form or within the time frame ordered by the customer.

8.1 Change in the date or form of services provided

Unless otherwise specified for a particular product in the Special Section of these Terms and Conditions, if, as a result of the measures, it is not possible to provide the ordered service (hold a course or exam) in person on the specified date, Scio is entitled, depending on the specific case, to:

  • change the in-person form of service provision to a distance (online) form,
  • change the date of service provision,
  • change the place of service provision.

If, in a given case, more than one option under points a) to c) is possible, Scio will allow the customer to choose the option.

A change made in accordance with this paragraph as a result of the measures is not a reason for canceling the order or withdrawing from the contract.

8.2 Difference in price

Any difference in price between the form of the service ordered and the price of the service after the change pursuant to paragraph 8.1 of these terms and conditions will be resolved as follows:

  • if the price of the service changed in accordance with paragraph 1 is lower than the price of the ordered service, the customer will be provided with the difference in the form of a voucher for the purchase of goods or services from Scio, which will be valid until the end of June of the following school/academic year.
  • If the price of the service changed in accordance with paragraph 2 is higher than the price of the ordered service, the customer will be obliged to pay the difference. In such a case, the deadline for payment of the difference will be the same as if the date of the change were the date of the new order. If the customer does not pay the difference in price, Scio is entitled to cancel the order.

9) Final provisions

9.1 Validity and binding nature of the terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all contractual relationships regarding the delivery of goods and the provision of services between the customer and Scio.

9.2 Language of communication

When communicating with customers in the course of providing services, Scio will primarily use the Czech language.

9.3 Out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes

If the customer believes that Scio has breached its obligations under the concluded contract, they shall send their complaint to the email address scio@scio.cz.
If, despite mutual efforts by the Customer and Scio, no agreement is reached to resolve the dispute, the Customer is entitled, under Act No. 634/1992 Coll. on consumer protection, to file a proposal for out-of-court settlement of the consumer dispute.

The entity responsible for the out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes between Scio and the Customer as a Consumer is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. The Customer may submit a proposal to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority using the online form available on the Czech Trade Inspection Authority's website: https://adr.coi.cz/cs. The Customer may file a proposal with the Czech Trade Inspection Authority no later than 1 year from the date on which they first exercised their right, which is the subject of the dispute, with Scio. The Customer may also submit a proposal via the EU out-of-court consumer dispute resolution platform, which is available online at: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/odr/main/index.cfm?event=main.home.show&lng=CS. Only consumers living in the EU may submit a proposal here against a trader based in the EU.

If the parties to the dispute are not satisfied with the quality of the out-of-court settlement of the consumer dispute and believe that the Rules for Out-of-Court Settlement of Consumer Disputes have been violated during the proceedings, they may file a complaint with the Ministry of Industry and Trade at or by email at adr@mpo.cz.
The costs associated with out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes shall be borne by the parties themselves.

9.4 Customer's consent and binding nature of these terms and conditions

By checking the box in the order, the customer confirms their agreement with these terms and conditions.

Special section of the terms and conditions

  1. National Comparative Exams

I.1) National Comparative Exams Product

I.1.1 What are National Comparative Exams

National Comparative Exams are a product of Scio that allows for the comparison of the academic aptitude and knowledge of NCE participants. For this reason, NCE results are used by a number of faculties as one of the criteria or even as the sole criterion for admission to university. NCE are held in person or online; both forms are fully valid and the results of the tests in both modes are fully comparable.

The subject of performance by Scio within the NCE product is:

  • Logistical support for customer participation in the NCE, i.e., assigning the NCE participant to the requested date and specific location in a specific classroom and providing the necessary materials for taking the exam. In the case of online NCE, providing the ScioLink testing system, which is operated by Scio.
  • Providing the information necessary for the full participation of the NCE participant in the exam they have booked (publishing an invitation for the given NCE date containing all important information about the exact address of the NCE venue, the documents and items that the candidate must bring to the exam itself; in the case of online NCE, information about the necessary technical equipment and rules for taking the exam online; information about publication of a digitized record sheet, public review of tests, exam results, and other additional communication).
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the exam through administrators and a coordinator at the exam venue; ensuring the evaluation of the record through online NCE evaluators.
  • The exam itself consists of verifying general study prerequisites or knowledge in a pre-agreed manner.
  • Automatic evaluation of the record sheet (scanning and evaluation using special software).
  • Submission of the results to the relevant university faculty based on the participant's instructions, provided that the faculty accepts this method of submitting results within the conditions of the admission procedure.
  • Provision of the Test, which was used within the NCE to verify general study prerequisites or knowledge.
  • Specification of the verification of general study prerequisites and knowledge within the NCE.

General study aptitudes and knowledge are verified within the NCE through tests created for this purpose in a professional manner. The tests used within the NCE meet the statistical standards applicable to the measurement of educational outcomes (see http://scio.cz/tvorba_testu/index.asp). When preparing the tests, Scio always takes into account the possibility that some tasks included in the test may be flawed. In such a case, the task may be removed from the test or from the evaluation of its solution (see Article 14 of these Terms and Conditions) without affecting the informative value of the test as a whole. The exclusion of a task does not disadvantage participants in a given test variant compared to participants in other variants, given that the test result is not determined by the number of points achieved, but by a so-called harmonized percentile. The tests are designed from the outset to fully serve their purpose even if up to 10% of the tasks are incorrect, even if these tasks are excluded during public review or remain in the evaluation. This fact is demonstrated by the values of statistical criteria used to measure the quality of the entire test, such as average discrimination (the average ability of a single test item to distinguish between test takers with different levels of assessed abilities or knowledge) or test reliability (measurement accuracy). Errors in tests up to the specified number are therefore not a defect in the goods or services provided. An additional service for NCE participants is available to eliminate such errors, namely public review in accordance with Article 14 of these Terms and Conditions. Any error in a task that does not affect the solution of the task or the number of points achieved is not considered an error, nor is a task that has more than one solution.

I.1.2 Notifications and information about the NCE for NCE participants

Scio provides all notifications and information relating to the NCE to NCE participants in electronic form via the participant's personal profile (Article 2 of these Terms and Conditions). Scio will notify NCE participants of the placement of information in their personal profile via email. Scio is not responsible for cases where the delivery of an email message fails due to the fault of the transmission network operator or the NCE participant's email account.

I.2) Registration of interested parties for participation in the NCE

I.2.1 Obligation to register in the Scio e-shop

Before submitting their first application (order) for an NCE exam, applicants for participation in the NCE are required to register in the e-shop at www.scioexams.com/terminy. Registration is a necessary condition for applicants interested in participating in the NCE to be able to manage their personal profile, submit a binding application to the NCE, and, if necessary, place orders for other products.

Registered NCE participants can track the current status of their application and make changes to it if necessary. Registration must be completed when applying for the first time (or when ordering other goods or services). The system will guide those interested in participating in the NCE to the registration form, where they can fill in the necessary information. Successful registration of those interested in participating in the NCE is confirmed by Scio in the form of an email message sent to the email address provided by the applicant during registration. Similarly, each exam application or other order placed by an NCE participant is confirmed. Applicants for participation in the NCE are required to fill in all mandatory information correctly and truthfully – if incorrect or incomplete information is entered, Scio does not guarantee that the exam application (or other order) will be processed correctly and on time.

Those interested in participating in the NCE only need to register once. Each subsequent exam application (or other order) is made using the registration details assigned during the first order, i.e., the login name and password.

I.2.2 More detailed information on the processing of personal data is available here.

I.3) NCE application

An NCE application is an order for services consisting of enabling participation in the NCE and related services. For more details, see section 2.3 of these terms and conditions.

I.3.1 Regular application

You can normally register for the NCE exam(s) no later than the registration deadline for each of the NCE dates published at www.scioexams.com . This can be done via the online store at www.scioexams.com or by telephone through Scio's customer service (tel. 234 705 555) if the customer is unable to place an order via the online store. The deadlines for accepting applications for individual NCE dates are set at least 15 days before the exam.

I.3.2 Application after the deadline

This is an additional registration for the NCE exam(s). This is possible after the deadline for applications for individual NCE dates, but no later than five days before the exam. This can be done via the online store at www.scioexams.com or by telephone via Scio's customer service (tel. 234 705 555) if the customer is unable to place an order via the online store. When submitting an application after the deadline, Scio charges an extra fee according to the valid price list published on the day of the order at www.scioexams.com . This surcharge covers the costs of the necessary individual processing of the application and the additional inclusion of the applicant in the NCE exam. Participants with specific needs cannot be guaranteed exam accommodations if they apply after the deadline.

I.3.3 Special application

In exceptional cases, it is possible to register for the exam in person at the exam venue on the given date, no later than 20 minutes before the start of the exam. However, such registration will only be possible if the current situation (capacity and organizational possibilities) at the exam venue allows it and for an extraordinary surcharge according to the price list valid on the date of the order. This surcharge covers the costs of the necessary individual processing of the application and the additional inclusion of the applicant in the NCE exam, as well as the organization and logistics at the exam venue.

This option is not available for online NCE.

I.3.4 Legal binding nature of the application

The application becomes legally binding when it is delivered to Scio (see the method of submitting the application in paragraphs I.3.1, I.3.2, and I.3.3 of the terms and conditions). Scio will then confirm the successful application for the exam by email to the registered email address of the applicant for the NCE. The message contains complete information about the application. In the case of an extraordinary application at the NCE venue, the NCE participant will be given written confirmation. Confirmation of the application constitutes the conclusion of a service agreement between the applicant for participation in the NCE and Scio.

Please note: A regular application or an application after the deadline can only be submitted via the Scio e-shop or by telephone (see paragraphs I.3.1 and I.3.2 of the Terms and Conditions) if the customer is unable to place an order via the e-shop. Applicants for university studies who submit an application to a university and pay the administrative fee for the admission procedure to the university are not automatically registered for the test.

I.4) Requirements for NCE applications

I.4.1 Mandatory application requirements (marked with an asterisk in the application form)

In the application for the NCE exam(s), applicants for participation in the NCE are required to provide the information marked as essential in the application form.

I.4.2 Consequences of omitting or incorrectly stating any of the mandatory application requirements

If an applicant for participation in the NCE does not fill in all the above-mentioned mandatory information in the application form correctly, they expose themselves to the risk of limited options within the NCE, or unsuccessful registration for the exam(s) (e.g., if an applicant for participation in the NCE provides an incorrect e-mail address, they will not receive an invitation to the exam; if they do not give instructions to provide results including other personal data, the results cannot be forwarded to the faculties; if they do not provide their birth number, they cannot receive a certificate with the results of the exam/exams).

Please note: If an applicant for participation in the NCE does not agree to provide the above-mentioned personal data, in particular their birth number, they may take the exam(s) in a special mode for an additional fee, in which the provision of personal data will not be required. For more information, see Article 15) of these Terms and Conditions.

I.4.3 Changes to the information in the NCE application

The information provided in the NCE application form can only be changed by the participant themselves in their personal profile at www.scioexams.com . NCE participants acknowledge that the application form is non-transferable to another person and therefore no changes can be made to the identification of the applicant. Incorrectly entered data can only be corrected using the form in the personal profile.

I.5) NCE price

I.5.1 Price of the NCE exam

The price of the exam and other services provided is determined by the price list published at www.scioexams.com valid on the date of submission of the exam application to Scio and consists of the price of the test and the price of services provided in connection with the administration and evaluation of the exam.

I.5.2 Delivery costs

The costs of delivering and sending information and materials related to the application for the NCE exam(s) are borne by Scio.

The test can only be delivered as part of the exam, so the participant must pick it up in person at the place and time of the NCE. In the case of the online NCE, the test is made available to the participant in the ScioLink application. No other method of delivery is possible. After the exam, the participant can also download the test from their personal profile.

I.5.3 Voucher for payment of the NCE fee

Some universities provide their applicants with free or discounted exams through vouchers. Participants activate the voucher by entering their identification details here. They then register for the NCE in the standard manner.

Please note: The voucher cannot be used retroactively (i.e., after payment and completion of the exam). In the event of cancellation of an exam paid for with a voucher, the voucher cannot be returned, nor can the amount corresponding to the voucher payment be refunded.

I.6) NCE payment

I.6.1 Payment in the case of a regular application

When submitting a valid application, applicants wishing to participate in the NCE are required to pay the price of the NCE exam(s) within 14 days of the date of conclusion of the contract (in accordance with paragraph I.3.4 of these terms and conditions), but no later than 12 days before the date of the exam to which the payment relates. Exceptions may be listed on the websitewww.scioexams.com . The exam fee is considered paid on the date specified for each payment method in paragraph 3.2 of these terms and conditions.

I.6.2 Payment in the case of late registration

When submitting an application after the deadline, applicants interested in participating in the NCE are required to pay the price of the NCE exam(s) together with the administrative fee no later than 2 days before the date of the exam to which the payment relates.

I.6.3 Payment in the case of an extraordinary application

When registering at the exam venue on the date of the NCE exam, applicants for participation in the NCE are required to pay the price of the NCE exam(s) together with an extraordinary surcharge in cash at the time of registration (conclusion of the contract).

I.6.4 Payment of the fee for "changing the application at the NCE venue"

When changing the exam location in accordance with paragraph I.7.3 of these terms and conditions at the venue itself, the NCE participant is required to pay an administrative fee in cash at the time of the change. If the NCE participant fails to pay the required fee, the change will not be made and the NCE participant may only take the exam at the location specified in the invitation in accordance with the application; otherwise, the procedure will be the same as in the case of non-participation of the NCE participant in accordance with paragraph I.10.3 of these terms and conditions.

I.6.5 Date and method of payment

Unless otherwise specified in these terms and conditions, payment for registration for the NCE exam(s) can be made using one of the methods specified in paragraph I.3.2 of these terms and conditions.

Those interested in participating in the NCE can track the status of their order (including payment) in their personal profile at www.scioexams.com .

I.6.6 Failure to pay the NCE application fee

If the exam fee is not paid properly and on time, Scio will notify the applicant for participation in the NCE in their personal profile and by email, and will grant them an additional three days from the date of posting the notification of non-payment in their personal profile to make the payment. However, even in this case, the payment must be credited to the account no later than 12 days before the date of the exam in the case of a regular application, and no later than 2 days before the date of the exam in the case of an application after the deadline.

If payment is not made even after this deadline, Scio is entitled to withdraw from the contract with the applicant for participation in the NCE. Scio will notify the applicant for participation in the NCE of the withdrawal from the contract (cancellation of the order) by e-mail.

If Scio does not withdraw from the contract and allows the customer to take the exam, the exam participant will not receive their results until all outstanding debts to Scio have been paid in full.

I.7) Change in the form and location of the NCE

I.7.1 Place (city) of the test(s)

The location of the in-person exam is chosen by the NCE participant when filling out the application form. The location refers to the city where the exam will take place. For logistical and organizational reasons, it is not possible to choose a specific building within the city where the exam will take place. The building where the exam will take place within a single city can only be changed by following the procedure for changing the location of the exam in accordance with section I.7.3 of the terms and conditions.

I.7.2 Time limit for changing the location (city) of the NCE

In the application for the NCE exam(s), it is possible to change the selected location (city) of the NCE on the given NCE date. This can be done no later than 12 days before the date of the exam to which the change relates, via your personal profile at www.scioexams.com .

I.7.3 Change of NCE venue (city or building) on site

If a participant arrives at a different exam location (address) than the one specified in the invitation in accordance with the application (without changing the location in the manner described in paragraph I.7.2), they will only be allowed to take the exam if the current situation (capacity and organizational possibilities) at the exam location allows it. Scio charges a fee according to the current price list (see also paragraph I.6.4 of these terms and conditions) for a change of exam venue made on the spot, taking into account the higher costs associated with the organization and logistics of the change.

I.7.4 Change of NCE venue by Scio

Scio reserves the right to change the location of the NCE exam(s) for participants if necessary (to the nearest available NCE location). NCE participants will always be informed of such a change by Scio immediately, no later than 2 days before the exam, by email, and this information will also be available in their personal profile at https://eshop.scioexams.com/Profile.

I.7.5 Change from in-person NCE to online NCE and vice versa

If both in-person and online NCE exams are held on a given date, participants may change the form of the NCE from in-person to online and vice versa, even after booking, up to 12 days before the date of the exam to which the change relates.

Participants who have registered for an in-person NCE may change the form of the exam to an online NCE up to 2 days before the date of the exam to which the change relates, under the following conditions:

  • This change is irreversible.
  • The participant is not entitled to technical support during the exam or compensation in the event of technical problems.
  • The order cannot be canceled for technical reasons (see Article I.10.2 of the Terms and Conditions).
  • The participant will only be allowed to have their equipment checked (see Article I.20.4 of the Terms and Conditions).
  • Exam modifications cannot be guaranteed for participants with specific needs.

Due to capacity reasons, this change may not be available for all NCE dates.

The participant will make the change via their personal profile at https://eshop.scioexams.com/Profile.

I.7.6 Change from in-person NCE to online NCE by Scio

Scio reserves the right to cancel the in-person exam for serious reasons (in particular, but not limited to, the epidemiological situation or other objective obstacles). In such a case, it will change the form of the exam to online for all registered participants and notify the participants of this change immediately by email and by posting it on their personal profile. After such a change, the participant has the option to change their application (change the date to one of the following) or cancel their application in accordance with these terms and conditions. If the participant can no longer make a change (the change to online NCE occurred later than 12 days before the relevant NCE date, or it is the last NCE date in the given academic year) and at the same time cannot take the exam in the form of online NCE, Scio may request cancellation of the application and a refund of the paid price.

The change to online NCE will also take place if anti-epidemic measures only limit the capacity for in-person NCE to such an extent that Scio will not be able to provide in-person NCE for all registered participants.

This change as a result of anti-epidemic measures is already anticipated when the contract with the participant is concluded and therefore cannot be a reason for the participant to withdraw from the contract.

I.7.7 Change from online NCE to in-person NCE by Scio in the event of an unguaranteed NCE result in the previous term

Scio reserves the right to change the online NCE to an in-person NCE for all upcoming NCE dates for participants whose results were marked as uncertain in any of the previous NCE dates.

If such a change occurs, Scio will invite the participant to choose the location where the NCE will take place within a specified period, or the participant may cancel their application within the same period. In such a case, the choice of NCE location is limited to locations where Scio has available capacity. If the participant does not choose a location within the specified period, it will be determined by Scio.

I.8) Change of the date of the NCE

I.8.1 Change of exam date(s)

NCE participants have the right to change the date of the exam within the same location. The date can be changed no later than 12 days before the given NCE date via the personal profile at www.scioexams.com . Information about NCE dates is available there.

I.8.2 Time limit for changing the date of the NCE

The date can be changed in this way no later than 12 days before the date of the exam(s) to which the change relates.

I.8.3 Change of the NCE date by Scio

Scio reserves the right to change the date of the NCE to a later date for serious reasons (in particular, but not limited to, the epidemiological situation or other objective obstacles), repeatedly if necessary. NCE participants will always be immediately informed of such a change by Scio via email, and this information will also be available in their personal profile at https://eshop.scioexams.com/Profile. This change, resulting from anti-epidemic measures, is already anticipated when the contract with the participant is concluded and therefore cannot be a reason for the participant to withdraw from the contract.

I.9) Delivery of the invitation to the NCE

I.9.1 Invitation to the NCE

For each NCE participant who has duly ordered and paid for the exam(s), Scio will place an invitation to the exam(s) in their personal profile, no earlier than 10 and no later than 2 days before the date of the exam(s), in the case of applications submitted after the deadline, no later than 2 days before the date of the exam(s). Scio will notify the NCE participant of the placement of the invitation in their personal profile via email. The invitation will only be available in electronic form.

I.10) Cancellation and withdrawal of NCE application, withdrawal from the contract by the customer

I.10.1 Cancellation of NCE application by the applicant

An applicant for participation in the NCE is entitled to cancel their application for the NCE exam(s) at any time before paying the price of the ordered NCE exam(s). Only the NCE participant themselves can cancel their NCE application via their personal profile, due to the need to ensure the legitimacy of such a cancellation request.

I.10.2 Cancellation of NCE registration by the NCE participant

After paying for the ordered exam(s), the NCE participant is entitled to cancel their application for the exam(s) within the NCE (i.e., cancel the already paid application). An NCE order can only be canceled via the personal profile at www.scioexams.com by filling out and submitting the cancellation form, due to the need to ensure the legitimacy of such a cancellation request.

Cancellation no later than 12 days before the date of the exam(s)

If an NCE participant cancels their exam registration no later than 12 days before the date of the exam(s), the NCE participant will be refunded 65% of the amount paid for the relevant exam and related products. Scio is entitled to charge the remaining 35% of the amount paid as compensation for the costs associated with preparing the exam and for the test with the answer key, which will be made available to the customer in their personal profile after the exam date.

Cancellation between 11 and 0 days before the date of the exam(s)

From 11 days before the exam until the exam date, Scio provides exam preparation (services) to all participants equally, regardless of whether the participant ultimately takes the exam or not. Therefore, in the event of cancellation during this period, no portion of the paid price will be refunded to the participant. After the exam date, the customer will have access to the test with the answer key in their personal profile.

Cancellation for technical reasons between 8 and 3 days before the exam date

If the online NCE participant meets the minimum technical requirements under paragraph I.20.1 of these terms and conditions for the device from which they wish to take the exam, attempts to complete the Mandatory Device Check under paragraph I.20.4 of these terms and conditions, and even with the help of Scio's technical support, they do not pass the Mandatory Device Check with a positive result, they are entitled to

  • either cancel their application, in which case the NCE participant will be refunded 65% of the amount paid for the relevant exam and related products. Scio is entitled to charge the remaining 35% of the amount paid as compensation for the costs associated with preparing the exam and for the test with the answer key, which will be made available to the customer in their personal profile after the exam date,
  • or after paying the additional fee according to the current price list and agreeing with Scio's customer service to come to the NCE venue and take the exam in person. However, this option is limited by the available capacity of the venues where the in-person exams are held.

Cancellation for technical reasons is not possible in the event of a change from an in-person to an online exam within the meaning of paragraph I.7.5 of these terms and conditions from the fifth day before the exam.

I.10.3 Non-attendance of a registered participant at the exam

If a registered participant does not attend the NCE exam, the rights and obligations of the contracting parties shall be governed by the relevant provisions of paragraph I.10.2 (i.e., the procedure shall be the same as in the case of cancellation 0 days before the exam date). This also applies if the participant is unable to attend the exam date for an objective reason (e.g., illness or mandatory quarantine/isolation).

I.10.4 Withdrawal from the contract by the NCE participant

Pursuant to Section 1829(1) of the Civil Code, the NCE participant has the right to withdraw from the concluded contract without giving any reason within 14 days of its conclusion or receipt of the goods, but no later than 12 days before the date of the National Comparative Exams. On the 11th day before the date of the NCE, Scio will begin providing services consisting of the organizational preparation of the NCE. At this time, Scio will also individually prepare a test assignment for each NCE participant, which they will take as part of the exam (the test will be marked with a unique code). NCE participants expressly agree to this date for the commencement of services related to the NCE and the preparation of tests for each individual NCE participant.

The NCE participant must withdraw from the contract in a manner that leaves no doubt that they are withdrawing from the contract. This can be done by filling out the form found in their personal profile. The effectiveness of any other method of withdrawal from the contract, given the seriousness of the possible consequences of such an act (non-participation in the NCE, failure to meet the conditions for admission to the selected university), will always be assessed by Scio on a case-by-case basis and, in case of doubt, the NCE participant will be asked to complete the form referred to in the previous paragraph or another sufficient form of withdrawal.

I.10.5 Refund procedure in the event of cancellation of the application or withdrawal from the contract

In the event of withdrawal from the contract pursuant to paragraph I.10.4 of these terms and conditions or cancellation of the application pursuant to paragraph I.10.3 of these Terms and Conditions, Scio shall refund the funds received from the NCE participant within fourteen (14) days of the withdrawal from the contract by the NCE participant, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 5.6 of these Terms and Conditions.

I.11) Course of the NCE, photography during exams / recording of the online NCE, objection to the course of the exam

I.11.1 NCE rules

The NCE participant is obliged to take the exam regularly, i.e. alone, without outside help and without using unauthorized sources of information (hereinafter referred to as "Obligations of the NCE participant"). Before and during the exam, the NCE participant is obliged to comply with the following rules.

The NCE participant will be informed about the course of the exam/exams within the framework of the in-person NCE through the document "Information about the course of the NCE (instructions for participants)", which contains the Rules for the in-person NCE. Online NCE participants will be instructed on the rules to be followed when taking the exam in online mode, "Online NCE Rules" (hereinafter collectively referred to as "NCE Rules"). Participants will receive the Rules together with their invitation to the NCE. The course of the NCE exam/exams is defined in advance and is identical for all participants. The participant is obliged to accept all actions and rules related to the proper conduct of the NCE (ID check, photography, prohibition of copying or using a mobile phone, prohibition of the presence of third parties or prohibited items during the online NCE, etc.) in accordance with the Rules, otherwise they cannot take the exam. It is not possible to prove your identity in the eDoklady application during the NCE.

In the event of a breach of the participant's obligations set out in this article or in the event of non-compliance with the Rules, the exam result will be evaluated as unguaranteed (paragraph I.12.4 of these Terms and Conditions), the participant may be excluded from the in-person exam, and their result will not be evaluated.

The participant may request in advance an exemption from any of the NCE online Rules, but only for serious reasons (health restrictions, special educational needs). At the request of Scio, the existence of such a serious reason shall be documented in an individually agreed manner.

The ScioLink application may provide feedback, e.g., on unauthorized programs that have been launched. This feedback is always for informational purposes only; it is the participant's responsibility to comply with the rules. The fact that the ScioLink application does not alert you to a violation of the rules during the exam does not mean that the violation cannot be found subsequently when the recording is evaluated. All recordings are always subsequently evaluated by trained Scio evaluators.

I.11.2 Penalties for violation of NCE participant obligations and NCE rules

Violation of the obligations of the NCE participant and the Rules under paragraph I.11.1 of these Terms and Conditions will be considered a material breach of contractual obligations and exam conditions, in which case the participant will not be allowed to complete and pass the exam.

In the event of a violation of the rules during the online NCE, Scio may proceed in accordance with paragraph I.7.7.

I.11.3 Taking photographs

Part of the provision of the NCE service in the face-to-face mode is the taking of photographs or video recordings of the rooms in which the NCE exams are held, for the purpose of ensuring and future verification of the regular course of the exam. The provision of the NCE service in online mode includes the taking of video and audio recordings of the course of the exam and a recording of the participant's computer screen for the duration of the exam. More information is available on the personal data protection page.

I.11.4 Objections to the conduct of the exam

After the exam, each participant has access to a form in their personal profile for submitting an objection to the conduct of the exam. Participants in the in-person NCE can also submit an objection at the exam venue using the "exam conduct report" form. In order for the objection to be taken into account in the evaluation of the exam itself, it is necessary to submit the objection no later than 2 days after the date of the NCE to which it relates. Objections submitted later cannot be taken into account in the evaluation of the exam. Objections to the conduct of the exam submitted in any other form cannot be taken into account either.

The submission of an objection may be the basis for a later complaint or a decision on an unguaranteed result due to a violation of the NCE Rules.

I.12) NCE result

I.12.1 Preliminary results

After the exam, the participant is given access to the preliminary result immediately after the record sheets have been processed in the case of in-person NCE, or the results of the tests from the testing application in the case of online NCE. This result takes the form of a preliminary percentile. This result is not final, as it does not take into account the results of the public review (according to Article I.14) and, in the case of online NCE, the evaluation of regularity (compliance with the obligations and rules for taking the exam in online form). This result is not applicable for the admission procedure to faculties. This is a paid service beyond the scope of the NCE itself and its final result.

I.12.2 Time of publication of final results

The final results will be available no earlier than 14 days after the date of the exam(s) and no later than 20 days after the date of the exam(s). The results will be available in the personal profile until August 31 of the year in which the admission procedure in which the NCE results are to be used ends. After this date, only summary results will be available in the archive in the personal profile.

I.12.3 Form of the final result

The result of the test itself is in the form of a score. The result of the NCE exam(s), which is valid for the admission procedure at the faculties, will be in the form of a percentile or a converted ( = harmonized) percentile. For more information on harmonized percentiles, visit https://www.scioexams.com.

In the General Study Aptitude Test, General Study Aptitude Test, and Social Sciences Fundamentals Test, the recalculation will be performed separately for each section of the test. For each test (or section of the test) and date, a conversion table between the score and the percentile will be created. These tables will be published together with the final results in accordance with paragraph I.12.2 of these terms and conditions.

I.12.4 Non-guaranteed result

The NCE results, as they are submitted to the faculties and used in the admission process, must meet strict criteria for accuracy and mutual comparability of the knowledge and abilities of individual NCE participants. Scio guarantees to the faculties and all participants that the NCE results have these characteristics. If Scio cannot guarantee that the results have these characteristics, they cannot be used in the admissions process without further ado. In such a case, Scio will mark the results as unguaranteed.

The result is always unguaranteed if, during the exam (both online and in person), there is a violation of the NCE Participant's Obligations or the Rules (paragraph I.11.1 of these Terms and Conditions), as a result of which Scio cannot guarantee that the participant did not or could not gain an unfair advantage over other participants. Violations of the NCE Participant's Obligations and the Rules are detected primarily through supervision of in-person NCEs, records from online NCEs, and other procedures for evaluating the course of the exam (e.g., analysis of the participant's answers). Scio is entitled to mark the result as unguaranteed whenever it cannot confirm beyond doubt from the records and other available data and information that the participant achieved the result fairly. Scio will inform the participant of the result being marked as unguaranteed immediately after evaluating the course of the exam.

Scio reserves the right to decide on an unguaranteed result for serious reasons at any time later if it subsequently discovers a violation of the NCE participant's obligations or the Rules.

If the participant disagrees with the decision to designate the result of their exam as unguaranteed, they have the option of requesting a review of the decision by the evaluation committee. The request for review must be submitted within 48 hours of receiving the decision to designate the result as unguaranteed. In this request, the participant shall state all the relevant circumstances and reasons for submitting the request. The request shall be submitted using the form in the participant's personal profile, through which the request is delivered directly to the evaluation committee. This form is necessary to ensure that all requests are properly and timely assessed by the evaluation committee. Late requests for review or additional justifications for the request will not be considered. A request that does not clearly state why the participant considers the decision to mark the result as unguaranteed to be incorrect may be rejected by the evaluation committee as unreviewable.

Based on the request for review, the committee will re-evaluate the exam record and assess all the circumstances and reasons stated by the participant in the request and decide whether the result will remain marked as unguaranteed. The committee's decision is final, the review is terminated, and no further suggestions from the participant in this matter will be considered.

If the exam result is marked as unconfirmed, the participant will be issued a confirmation of participation in the exam and its result, with an explanation of why the result was marked as unconfirmed. This confirmation will be made available to the participant via their personal profile.

Scio will not forward an unguaranteed result to the faculty.

Please note: Since the essential characteristics of the NCE result as a service provided are its accuracy and comparability with the knowledge and abilities of other participants, Scio must mark as unguaranteed any result that it finds cannot be guaranteed for these characteristics.

I.13) Delivery of NCE results

I.13.1 Scores and publication of record sheets

Scio will send an email to each NCE participant who has duly ordered and duly and timely paid for their application for the NCE exam(s) and participated in the NCE, informing them that their NCE answers and scores are available in their personal profile. The participant's answers and achieved score will be available on the website www.scioexams.com via the personal profile on the dates specified at www.scioexams.com and will remain available until August 31 of the year in which the admission procedure in which the NCE results are to be used ends.

I.13.2 Test results

The results (percentile or harmonized percentile) will be accessible via the personal profile. Participants will be informed of the availability of the results by email to the address provided in the NCE application form.

I.14) Public review of the test assignment and answer key

I.14.1 Course of public review of test assignments or answer keys

During the public review period, the test assignments and answer keys will be published in the personal profiles of the test participants at the dates specified at www.scioexams.com . If an NCE participant is convinced that the test assignment or answer key contains an error, they can participate in the public review via their personal profile. The public review usually begins on the day of the exam and ends on the third day after the exam date. This period is specified in the personal profile for each exam date. Participants can find details and rules for participating in the public review at www.scioexams.com

I.14.2 Activities and conclusions of the independent expert committee

If the expert committee finds that the objection is justified and that the task or the key to the correct solutions are indeed incorrect, it may recommend either removing the task from further evaluation of the test or recognizing more than one answer as correct (this is the only exception to the rule that each task has only one correct solution). The expert committee will choose the method of resolving the objection according to its suitability in the specific case, and this solution will be valid for all participants in the given test. In the case of an objection to a task that appears in multiple versions of the test, the solution will be valid for all of these versions.

The expert committee's recommendation will be posted in the personal profile of all participants in the given NCE term, together with the final results. The committee's recommendation is final and unchangeable. Scio undertakes to accept the committee's recommendation and to comply with it; otherwise, Scio is obliged to duly justify its procedure.

If it is not clear from the objection submitted by the NCE participant in the public review and its justification what the NCE participant considers to be an error, the Independent Expert Committee is not required to address the objection.

I.14.3 Resolving errors in the test outside of public review

If Scio discovers an error in the test assignment within the NCE at a time when the assignment can no longer be changed, it will remove such a task from the exam assessment for all NCE participants in the relevant term.

Please note: Public review within the NCE is not a complaint and is not intended to replace a complaint. Public review is a service for NCE participants and a way to make testing within the NCE more transparent. An error in the test is not necessarily a defect in the service provided; the entire concept of the tests allows for the possibility of a certain number of errors (see paragraph I.1.1 of these terms and conditions). These are therefore two independent and separate processes. For more information on complaints, see paragraph I.19.3 of these terms and conditions. Public review is also not the same as filing an appeal against a faculty's decision not to admit a student to study.

I.15) Personal data protection

All information on the processing and protection of personal data of Scio customers and NCE participants in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is available on the personal data protection page.

Please note: If an NCE participant does not agree to provide their birth number or other personal data to Scio, they may take the exam(s) in a special mode for an additional fee, in which no personal data will be required. The additional fee is CZK 1,000 per exam, which covers Scio's increased administrative and other costs. The results of the exam taken in this special (anonymous) mode will never be disclosed (even after the participant's identification data has been provided) to any university faculty or any other entity where the NCE result could play a role. Such results are used only for the needs of the exam participant . The exam, which will be conducted in this special (anonymous) mode, is not certified. If you wish to take the exam in this mode, please contact us.

I.16) Instructions for providing NCE results

I.16.1 Instructions for providing exam results

As part of the electronic application for the NCE (see Article I.4 of these Terms and Conditions), the NCE participant may instruct Scio to provide the third party (university) specified in the application with the results of the exam(s), including the participant's identification data. Issuing this instruction obliges Scio to process and provide the participant's identification data and test results to the relevant third party (university). This instruction is valid and effective for all tests taken by the NCE participant.

I.16.2 Change of instruction

The participant may change the instruction to provide the results of the exam(s), including personal data. The instruction can only be changed within the personal profile on the website www.scioexams.com. The participant may make the change no later than 4 days after the exam.

I.16.3 Transfer of results to university faculties

Scio will forward the results of those NCE participants who have expressly given instructions to do so to the university faculties that accept applicants on the basis of the results of the NCE exam(s). Without these instructions, the results cannot be forwarded to the university faculties.

Scio does not guarantee that the results provided will be taken into account in the admission procedure of a specific university faculty. Basic information about the conditions that must be met for the results to be taken into account is available at www.scioexams.com . Current and complete information must always be verified on the websites of the individual faculties. The current list of faculties using NCE results is available at www.scioexams.com .

I.16.4 Use of unguaranteed results in university faculty admissions

Scio will not forward unconfirmed results to the faculty. If a participant submits confirmation of an unconfirmed result to the faculty during the admission procedure and the faculty asks Scio to comment on the reasons for marking the result as unconfirmed, Scio will provide the faculty with such a statement. By submitting confirmation of an unguaranteed result to the faculty, the participant agrees that Scio may, at the faculty's request, provide the faculty with all supporting documents, including test records, on the basis of which it designated the result as unguaranteed.

I.17) Archiving of NCE participant data

Information on archiving and disposal periods can be found on the personal data protection page.

I.18) Social discounts in the NCE

I.18.1 Conditions for granting and amount of social discounts

Scio undertakes to provide a social discount to those interested in participating in the NCE who, in accordance with social security legislation (Act No. 117/1995 Coll., on State Social Support, as amended), demonstrate social need and meet other criteria set out in these terms and conditions. The discount will be provided to the following extent: each individual test will be provided without a registration fee (i.e., the "mini" or "standard" package free of charge – for packages with additional services, the price will be reduced accordingly); a 100% discount on the current price of all other Scio products and services, whereby the social discount provided in this way is limited to the purchase of other products and services up to CZK 2,200 per school year. The discount cannot be requested repeatedly and can only be applied once (only within one order/application for the NCE).

I.18.2 Requirements for applying for a discount

Scio will decide on the granting of a social discount based on the application of the applicant for participation in the NCE. The applicant for participation in the NCE is required to submit the following with the application:

  • A decision (or certified copy) from the relevant state authority on the granting of child allowance (pursuant to Sections 17 and 18 c) of Act No. 117/1995 Coll.). For decisions older than six months, a payment schedule issued by the labor office or a bank statement.
  • Official confirmation of receipt of a social scholarship issued by a university or the Labor Office. This scholarship is intended for students whose family income does not exceed 1.5 times the minimum subsistence level.
  • Official confirmation of receipt of a housing allowance issued by the Labor Office. This benefit is intended for people with low incomes and high housing costs. For decisions older than six months, a payment schedule issued by the Labor Office or a bank statement.
  • Confirmation of inclusion in the free school meals program, if available.
  • Official confirmation of receipt of social scholarship issued by the university/faculty.
  • Official confirmation of receiving material assistance (pursuant to Act No. 417/2013 Coll., §25) issued by the Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family (ÚPSVaR).
  • Confirmation of inclusion in the "Slovakia Rewards Me" program in the category for above-average students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

I.18.3 Decision on the provision of a social discount

After the above conditions have been met, Scio will decide whether or not to grant a social discount. Applicants for participation in the NCE will be informed of this decision within 14 days by telephone or e-mail, and at the same time they will be informed of the procedure for applying the discount when ordering in the e-shop.

Please note: NCE participants have no legal right to a social discount, which is granted at the discretion of Scio, subject to the conditions set for its provision. Social discounts can only be granted before an order is placed. Social discounts cannot be applied retroactively to products and services that have already been ordered. Similarly, social discounts will not be provided on already discounted products (so-called "packages").

I.19) Complaints and Complaints Procedure

Unless otherwise specified in these terms and conditions, complaints within the NCE are governed by the provisions of the general section of Scio's terms and conditions on complaints and the complaints procedure (Article 6) and the relevant provisions of applicable law. This article only regulates specific situations within the NCE.

I.19.1 Complaints about the course of the tests

If any problem arises during the test that could be considered a defect in the service provided, the NCE participant is entitled to complain about the test.

The NCE participant can make a complaint in two ways:

  1. a) complaint about the course of the exam itself by raising an objection to the course of the exam in the Participant's Report on the Course of the Exam, or in the case of an online NCE, by filling out a form after the exam (hereinafter referred to as the "Report")

Scio recommends this method of filing a complaint to NCE participants, as it allows Scio to review the course of the exam and resolve the complaint more effectively than if the complaint is filed after a period of time. Therefore, if the NCE participant selects the option "Yes – I object to the course of the exam" in the Participant's Protocol on the Course of the Exam, Scio will review the objection immediately, even before the exam is evaluated, and will immediately inform the NCE participant of the result of the review by email.

How Scio resolves such complaints:

  • if Scio finds that the objection stated in the report is not justified (especially if the objected fact could not have affected the course and result of the exam), it will reject the objection and the exam will be evaluated as standard;
  • if Scio finds that the objection is justified in the sense that a circumstance occurred during the test which Scio could not influence, but which could have had an impact on the course and result of the exam, then Scio will offer the NCE participant a choice – either the exam will be evaluated as standard, or the exam will not be evaluated and a new date will be provided free of charge;
  • If Scio finds that the objection is justified in the sense that Scio made a mistake that could have affected the course and result of the exam, the participant's exam will still be evaluated and they will be offered a new date free of charge.

Please note: Complaints made in this way will always be dealt with as a priority, even before the results are processed and the exam is evaluated. Other reports will be checked and evaluated gradually later.

  1. b) Complaints about the course of the exam at any time later

If the exam participant checks the "No - I have no objections" option in the "Participant's Protocol on the Course of the Exam" and still fills in reservations about the course of the exam in the protocol, Scio will deal with such reservations in the protocol only after the exam has been evaluated.

Scio will proceed in a similar manner if the participant files a complaint about the course of the exam at any time later.

In the case of such a complaint relating to the course of the exam within the NCE without marking "yes – I raise an objection" in the "Exam Report," it may happen that, despite all efforts by Scio, the situation during the exam cannot be reviewed and the complaint would therefore have to be rejected.

If the complaint is justified and recognized as such by Scio, the participant's exam will not be evaluated. At the same time, the participant will be refunded the exam fee. The participant will also be offered a new exam date free of charge.

I.19.2 Complaints – objections to the exclusion of a participant from a face-to-face exam

The conditions for the exclusion of an exam participant are set out in the document "Information on the NCE process" (see paragraph I.11.1 of these terms and conditions). When a participant is excluded, the exam administrator will fill out an exclusion report. In most cases, this report will be the only evidence for assessing a possible complaint, and it is therefore in the interest of the NCE participant to include all relevant facts in the report and sign it, or to submit a complaint – an objection to the participant's exclusion from the exam – through it.

If the complaint is justified and recognized as such by Scio, the participant's exam will not be evaluated. At the same time, the participant will be refunded the exam fee. The NCE participant will also be offered a new exam date free of charge.

I.19.3 Complaints about errors in the test

Given that Scio precisely determines the qualitative characteristics of the exam in advance, in particular the number of tasks that may be incorrect and, as such, may be excluded without compromising the quality and integrity of the service provided, and given that the test sold is intended for use primarily in the NCE exam, Scio informs NCE participants that in the event of a complaint about a task within the specified number of possible incorrect tasks, it is likely that the complaint will be rejected as unfounded. However, each such complaint will, of course, be dealt with individually.
If the complaint is justified and recognized as such by Scio, the participant's test will not be evaluated. At the same time, the participant will be refunded the test fee. The NCE participant will also be offered a new test date free of charge.

Note: The difference between resolving errors in the test through complaints and removing a task based on the decision of an expert committee in a public review (according to Article I.14 of these terms and conditions): if a request for review by an expert committee is submitted and the task is removed by this expert committee, the results of the exam for all participants on that exam date will be affected; therefore, resolving the alleged error in the test is part of the service provided. The error in the test challenged by the complaint will always be resolved only in relation to the given NCE participant; the result of a successful complaint can only be a refund and the possibility of taking the exam on a new date; the result of the complaint cannot be a change in the exam result.

I.19.4 Complaints about the processing of the record sheet

NCE participants record their answers during the in-person exam on a so-called answer sheet. After the exams have been completed, the original answer sheet of the exam participant is automatically converted (digitized) into electronic form (scanning and subsequent automated conversion to text format data) and the score is calculated.
If the exam participant believes that their answers on the answer sheet have been incorrectly evaluated or that their score has been incorrectly calculated, they must notify Scio of this fact and request an individual evaluation of the answer sheet (complaint about the processing of the answer sheet).

Complaints can only be submitted via your personal profile at www.scioexams.com . If, due to Scio's fault, the individual evaluation differs from the automatic evaluation, the result will be changed according to the findings of the individual evaluation. The result of the individual evaluation of the answer sheet takes precedence over the automatic evaluation, and this result is final and unchangeable.

Note – objection due to non-recognition of the NCE result by the faculty:

An objection that a specific faculty did not take the NCE result into account cannot be treated as a complaint, as it does not constitute a defect in the service provided or goods sold. Given that Scio does not and cannot guarantee that the submitted result will be taken into account in the admission procedure of a specific university faculty (see Article 16.3 of these Terms and Conditions), Scio therefore advises NCE participants that there is no reason for a refund if a participant takes an NCE date or subject whose results are not recognized by the faculty in the admission process or if the faculty does not open a program to which it admits students based on NCE results.

I.19.5 Complaints regarding the designation of online NCE results as unguaranteed

If a participant's online NCE result is marked as unguaranteed (i.e., Scio finds a violation of the obligations or rules under paragraph I.11.1 of these Terms and Conditions), the participant may request a review of this decision in accordance with the procedure under paragraph I.12.4 of these Terms and Conditions.

I.20) Special provisions for online NCE

I.20.1 Minimum technical requirements for devices used to take the online NCE

The online NCE can be taken on a device that meets the minimum technical requirements listed on the website https://www.scioexams.com/national-comparative-exams-online and with which the participant is familiarized during the online NZS order process (hereinafter referred to as the "Minimum Technical Requirements").

I.20.2 Procedure before the actual online exam

Before the exam itself (during the Mandatory Device Check, or before the online exam itself), the participant is required to install the Proctoring Desktop application according to the instructions provided in their personal profile.

It is entirely the participant's responsibility to have or be able to obtain equipment that meets the Minimum Technical Requirements as specified in paragraph I.20.1 of these Terms and Conditions. Scio does not guarantee the availability of the service, , if the candidate does not have equipment that meets the specified minimum requirements.

I.20.3 Access data for taking the online NCE

Access to the ScioLink application will be provided in the invitation to the online NCE in the participant's personal profile no later than 4 days before the exam.

I.20.4 Mandatory device check, verification of compliance with minimum technical requirements

No later than three days before the exam, the participant is required to complete a mandatory device check to verify the compatibility of their device, verify compliance with the minimum technical requirements under paragraph I.20.1 of these terms and conditions, and ensure readiness for the online exam. The mandatory equipment check also includes initial identification using a photo of the face and a photo of an identity document. The participant is required to undergo the mandatory equipment check before each NCE date for which they register.

The participant is required to perform the Mandatory Device Check on the device on which they will subsequently take the exam itself. Successful completion of the Mandatory Device Check means that at the time of the Mandatory Device Check, the participant's device meets the requirements for the online exam itself. However, it should be noted that changing the device configuration between the Mandatory Device Check and the exam itself may result in the inability to take the exam, as the device will lose compatibility with the testing system as a result of such configuration.

If the participant does not perform the Mandatory Device Check within the specified time limit (no later than 3 days before the exam), Scio is not obliged to provide technical support during the exam, and if the participant is unable to take the exam, they are not entitled to any compensation or refund.

A successful Mandatory Device Check is one in which the participant completes all steps of the Mandatory Device Check up to the submission of the test.

The participant is obliged to notify Scio no later than 3 days before the exam itself if the device on which they plan to take the exam does not pass the HW check. The mandatory device check is an automatic operation processed solely by the ScioLink system; it is not evaluated by Scio evaluators. Therefore, if the participant has any doubts about the mandatory device check, they must contact Scio customer service to resolve any issues. If the participant fails to do so, they are not entitled to support from Scio in resolving the problem during the exam.

In the event of a change from in-person NCE to online within the meaning of Section I.7.5 of these terms and conditions, after the deadline for performing the mandatory device check, Scio will allow the participant to perform a so-called substitute device check, which will allow the participant to verify that their device is compatible for taking the online NCE, but technical support from Scio is not guaranteed in such a case.

I.20.5 Test time

The exam can only be taken at the time specified in the invitation and in the personal profile. If the participant does not connect on time, the exam will not be made available to them retroactively. Scio does not provide any compensation for exams not taken in this manner.

I.20.6 Participant identification and room scan

Before the exam begins, the participant will be identified using a photo from a webcam and a photo of their ID. Before the exam begins, the participant will be asked to use a webcam to perform a 360° scan of the room in which they are taking the exam. The exact conditions for the online exam, including the requirements for scanning the room, are set out in the Online NCE Rules in accordance with paragraph I.11.1 of these Terms and Conditions.

I.20.7 Procedure in the event of incompatibility of the participant's equipment for taking the online NCE

The participant may request a change of the NCE date if the equipment on which the participant intended to take the online NCE does not successfully pass the verification of compliance with the minimum technical requirements under paragraph I.20.4 of these Terms and Conditions and the problem cannot be resolved even with the support of Scio, only if they have complied with the deadline for performing the Mandatory Equipment Check in accordance with paragraph I.20.4 of these Terms and Conditions, i.e., they have performed the check no later than 3 days before the actual exam. The condition for changing the NCE date for this reason is that the participant cooperates with and Scio administrators in resolving the problem. The request must state that the participant is requesting a change of date due to failure to meet the minimum technical requirements. If these conditions are met, the participant's exam date will be changed to the next available NCE date for which they are not yet registered. If no such date is available for the participant (the participant is registered for all remaining dates), 100% of the exam fee will be refunded.

I.20.8 Evaluation of the regularity of the online NCE

The regularity, i.e. compliance with the NCE Participant Obligations and Online NCE Rules, of each online exam is evaluated by trained Scio evaluators within 10 days of the exam at the latest. If a violation of the Online NCE Rules is found, Scio will mark the result as unguaranteed. The participant is informed of the unguaranteed result in their personal profile and by email, and at the same time receives confirmation of the unguaranteed exam result in accordance with paragraph I.12.4 of these terms and conditions.

I.20.9 Technical problems with the online NCE and their solutions

In the event of technical problems complicating the proper performance of the online test, which are demonstrably caused by an error in Scio's technical solution, Scio will decide on an appropriate solution, taking into account the nature of the technical problems and whether and to what extent they could have affected the test result, and will offer the participant either the option of keeping the test result and receiving a 100% refund of the test price if the technical problems could not have significantly affected the test result, or a 100% refund of the test price if the technical problems could have significantly affected the test result. In such a case, the candidate must file an objection to the course of the online NCE in accordance with paragraph I.19.1 of these terms and conditions. The candidate's claim will be assessed by Scio's technical support staff no later than 7 days after the NCE date.

In the event of technical problems preventing the online exam from being taken, which are demonstrably caused by an error in Scio's technical solution, the candidate is entitled to a 100% refund of the exam fee. In such a case, the candidate must file an objection to the course of the online NCE in accordance with paragraph I.19.1 of these terms and conditions. The candidate's claim will be assessed by Scio's technical support staff no later than 7 days after the NCE deadline.

II. Preparatory courses and online tests

(Preparation for the NCE / for universities)

II.1) Courses with a lecturer

II.1.1 Course registration

You can register for preparatory courses with a lecturer no later than 3 working days before the course takes place in person, or no later than 1 working day before the course takes place online, exclusively through the e-shop at www.scioexams.com. Any problems with registration (course booking) can be resolved with Scio's customer service. The application form is part of the order according to paragraph 2.3 of these terms and conditions. As confirmation of the application, customers will receive an email with further information.

The customer is required to provide the following information in the application:

  • the first and last name of the course participant,
  • the course participant's telephone number.

Incorrectly entered information can only be corrected via the form in the personal profile or by email at scio@scio.cz.

Scio will then confirm successful registration for the course by email to the customer's address.

II.1.2 Scio's right not to open a course

Scio reserves the right not to open a course if the minimum attendance requirement (8 participants) is not met. The customer will be informed of this fact no later than 1 working day before the course date. Participants in a course canceled in this way have the right to either change the location or date of the course or receive a 100% refund of the amount paid.

II.1.3 Payment for preparatory courses with a lecturer

Upon submitting a valid application, the customer is obliged to pay the course fee within 14 days of submitting the application, but no later than 1 working day before the date of the course to which the payment relates. The payment date is specified for each payment method in paragraph 3.2 of these terms and conditions. If the course fee is not paid properly and on time, Scio will notify the customer by email and grant them an additional payment deadline. If the payment is not made even after this deadline, the contract with the prospective course participant will be terminated and Scio will cancel the application for the course . Cancellation of the application on the last day before the course can be prevented by sending confirmation of payment. Scio will notify the customer of the cancellation of the application by email. Cancellation of the application does not prevent re-registration for the course.

II.1.4 Change of course location or individual lesson, change of instructor

Registered course participants have the right to change the date or venue of individual course lessons using the form located in their personal profile on the website www.scioexams.com. However, the location or date of individual course lessons can only be changed once per order and no later than one working day before the date of the course lesson for which the participant is registered. In the event of a change to a later date, the cancellation conditions applicable to the originally ordered date shall apply.

In case of necessity (force majeure, i.e., unforeseeable events, illness of the instructor, etc.), Scio reserves the right to change the location of the course (to the next available location) or the date of the course or individual lessons. Customers will always be immediately informed of such changes by Scio via email. If a course participant is unable to attend at the changed location or date for serious reasons, Scio will decide on an appropriate alternative solution on an individual basis.

Scio also reserves the right to change the course instructor, even during the course. The change of instructor is entirely at the discretion of Scio and does not entitle the customer to any compensation.

II.1.5 Course invitations

An invitation to a course with a lecturer for university preparation will be displayed in the customer's personal profile immediately after ordering the course.

II.1.6 Late enrollment in a course

The customer may enroll in a course that is already in progress if the capacity of the course allows it. The customer will receive materials from previous lessons that they did not attend. However, this does not entitle the customer to a reduction in the course price. In the event of a course participant's absence from one or more lessons, the same procedure will apply.

II.1.7 Refund of the course price paid in the event of a breach of the terms and conditions by Scio

The participant may request termination of their participation in the course if Scio breaches the course conditions specified in the course offer or at in the customer's personal profile and no remedy is provided even after a written request (by email to scio@scio.cz) from the participant. Scio undertakes to address the objections stated in such a request immediately and, if it finds that a mistake has been made and if possible, to take immediate steps to remedy the situation. If the situation is not remedied or cannot be remedied, it will propose an alternative solution to the customer. If the objections stated in such a request are not resolved within 10 working days, the participant may request a refund of the price paid for that part of the course which corresponds to the lessons that the participant will not attend for the reasons stated in the request.

II.1.8 Cancellation of registration for a preparatory course with a lecturer

The customer is entitled to cancel their application for a preparatory course with a lecturer, i.e. to cancel an order that has already been paid for, under the following conditions:

  • Cancellation no later than 6 days before the course date: If the customer cancels their application for the course no later than 6 days before the course date, Scio will refund the customer 90% of the amount paid for the course. The remaining 10% of the amount paid belongs to Scio as a lump sum compensation for the administrative costs associated with processing the customer's application.
  • Cancellation between 5 and 0 days before the course date: If the customer cancels their registration for the course between 5 and 0 days before the course date or during the course, Scio will not refund any part of the amount paid for the course.

If the participant is unable to attend the course for any reason, they are not entitled to a refund of the course fee. If possible, after a prior request by email or telephone, the participant will be offered the opportunity to attend the course in another city or on another date, and will be provided with course materials, which they can pick up on the days of the course after prior arrangement.

II.1.9 Scio's right to withdraw from the contract – terminate the participant's course

Scio has the right to withdraw from the contract with a participant who grossly disrupts the course, endangers the health or property of other course participants, the instructor, or third parties, or damages the premises where the course is held, or in the event of an imminent threat of such damage. In the event of damage to the property of Scio or the owner of the premises where the course is held, the participant is obliged to compensate for such damage.

II.2) Online courses and online tests

Online materials are made available to the customer in their personal profile immediately, but no later than 24 hours after payment. The customer has access to online courses and online tests for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

Cancellation of an online course and online test order

An online test order can only be canceled before the test begins. Scio will refund the customer 90% of the amount paid for the test. The remaining 10% of the amount paid belongs to Scio as a flat-rate compensation for the administrative costs associated with processing the customer's order. Once the test has begun, the online test order cannot be canceled.

An online course order can only be canceled if the customer has not started more than one lesson of the course. Scio will refund the customer 90% of the amount paid for the course. The remaining 10% of the amount paid belongs to Scio as a flat-rate compensation for the administrative costs associated with processing the customer's order.

II.3) Unlimited preparation

Online materials are made available to the customer in their personal profile immediately, but no later than 24 hours after payment. The customer has access to online courses and online tests for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. Printed materials are sent to the customer by the second working day after payment; in the event of an update, the customer will be sent a new, updated version. The customer registers for a course with a lecturer by sending an email to the contact person listed in their personal profile. Customers can register for any of the open OSP/ZSV courses with a lecturer, even repeatedly. Scio is entitled to cancel a customer's registration for a classroom course if the customer did not attend a previous classroom course for which they registered as part of unlimited preparation without a valid reason.

III. Mock entrance exams

(Mock entrance exams for secondary school preparation)

III.1) Payment for mock entrance exams

The customer is obliged to pay the price of the exams by the attendance date within 14 days of submitting the application, but no later than 12 days before the date of the exams to which the payment relates. When submitting an application after the deadline has been extended, the customer is obliged to pay the exam fee no later than 4 days before the date of the exams to which the payment relates. The payment date is specified for each payment method in paragraph 3.2 of the General Terms and Conditions. If the exam fee is not paid properly and on time, Scio will notify the customer by email and grant them an additional three days from the date of delivery of this notification to make the payment. If the payment is not made even after this period, Scio may cancel the exam order. Scio will notify the customer of the cancellation of the order by email, and the contract will terminate upon delivery of this notice of cancellation. Cancellation of the order does not prevent the customer from re-registering for the mock entrance exams.

III.2) Cancellation of the Mock Entrance Exam order.

Cancellation of the Mock Entrance Exams order can be made no later than 12 days before the date of the Mock Entrance Exams.

If the customer cancels their order for the in-person Mock Entrance Exams no later than 12 days before the date of the exams, Scio will refund 90% of the amount paid to the customer. The remaining 10% of the amount paid belongs to Scio as a lump sum compensation for the administrative costs associated with processing the customer's order.

Cancellation of the online mock entrance exam date can be made no later than 12 days before the date of the online mock entrance exam. In this case, 100% of the amount paid will be refunded to the customer.

Cancellation of one or more dates from a discounted package

If the customer has purchased multiple mock exam dates as a discounted package and wishes to cancel their order after one of the dates has already passed, this is possible under the above conditions. The refunded amount will be calculated as the difference between the price paid for the entire Package and the full price for the individual dates that have already taken place (i.e., the price at which the Mock Entrance Exams are sold on individual dates), and 10% of this amount will be deducted as a flat-rate reimbursement for administrative costs, see above.

Please note! If the Package order is canceled, the customer's access to this service as a whole will be canceled, including the results of tests that have already taken place.

III.3) Non-attendance of a registered participant at the mock entrance exams

If the customer does not attend the in-person exam, the complete assignment, comparison table, and results will be made available in their personal profile after the official results of the exam are published.

If the customer does not attend the online date, they have the option to complete the test later in their personal profile until June 30 of the relevant school year. After completing the test, they will find the results, answer key, and Chance of Acceptance in their profile.

IV. Regular preparation

(Preparation for secondary schools)

The conditions below apply to the Regular Preparation product.

IV.1) Delivery

We will make the online materials available to the client via their personal profile on 4 dates defined on the product website. The client will be informed of the availability of the materials by email.

IV.2) Cancellation policy

According to the terms and conditions, it is possible to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of placing the order without penalty. After that, it is possible to terminate the subscription at the end of the part of the cycle in which the client decides to terminate. In such a case, a proportional part of the amount paid will be refunded, including the price for the unstarted parts of the regular preparation cycle.
